Phase zero - Discovery

The first step we take before starting any project is a discovery session. This takes about 2-4 hours to run and 2-3 weeks to come back with a scope of work. It helps us to better understand who you are and what goals you're looking to achieve. We sit down with all the stakeholders to guide you through a set of specific worksheets and live call/response rubrics.

This process is designed for new startups/products or established businesses who want a fresh rebrand. Prescription without diagnosis is malpractice.

product discovery
If you are already an established brand with a style guide, design system and other applicable prerequisites - we will review it all, call out required areas of improvement and initiate a quick onboarding call. We will send a list of all required assets and information we will need to audit, and begin a scope of work.

The Product Discovery is geared toward more established startups/businesses that require little to no creation of brand discovery assets. Our main focus is on the 2-3 hour product discovery session, from which we will finish the scope of work.

Phase one - branding

Branding begins with an overall assessment and initial ideation from the Brand Discovery. We visually conceptualize the user journey and brand personality with photos, colors, logo examples, inpsirational websites which all combine to begin ecompassing the brand voice. This is a three stage process which begins with mood boards and ends with finalized assets.

The three stages allow us a great cadence for feedback as we focus in on the final look and feel with stakeholder approval at each stage on live reviews.

style guide
Phase one culminates with a Figma file containing all assets for the web design phases to come. Logos (primary, lockout, avatar, alternate). Colors (primary, secondary, tertiary, black, white + gradients). Text styling (header, paragraph, link, rich text, etc). Elements (photo, video, thumbnail, components, buttons, etc). Icons (tools, dashboard ui, etc). We then pass these to development for upload to storybook.js or the CMS of your choice. This package includes mock marketing promotion, social media posts, email template, example pitch deck, printed material mockups, and photography/video style references.

Phase two - design & Development

Design Framework
Phase two begins with the translation of your styleguide into an essential UI/UX library in Figma. We add fonts, colors, logos, icons, components at a very base level and produced wireframes + visual mockups of your website/app. Each sprint we will review and receive feedback as we align on the perfect framework before heading to development. Tech stack and 3rd party costs are typically fleshed out here.

development & design system
Phase two culminates with your product/site/app build. Designers and developers collaborate in lockstep to head from mockups into prototypes. It is an iterative funnel-like process in which refinement happens through user testing, internal/external feedback, live audit sessions/peer programming, and building out a complete Figma component library for every atom, molecule and organism featured in your product. This serves as your structured palette for design/dev moving forward.

Phase three - deployment & Direction

It's that magic moment. After all feedback is implemented, we can deploy the product whenever you're ready to go to market! We will remain with you every step of the way to produce launch materials (digital/physical) and ensure that any edge cases are smoothed over asap. We live for ensuring perfect user experiences.

creative direction
In order for us to maintain a high level of standard moving forward, we require to remain hands on with creative direction/product management until training and handoff is comprehensive and complete. We like to keep work in our portfolio for as long as possible as well as win awards, high standards must be maintained.
